Victoria French BA (hons) PGCE QTS

Artist based in the rolling outskirts of the Lake District

Victoria gained her BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2009 from the University of Cumbria. There she was encouraged to try a variety of media to experiment with and explore the different themes that interested her. However, she always found herself returning to traditional artistic techniques, such as drawing and sculpting in stone, to express herself.

After working in Pathology for 7 years, Victoria went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and has been teaching in a small, rural primary school.

Everything exists within a delicate balance and is dependent upon symbiosis. Victoria’s work focuses on exploring these relationships by analysing her own detached relationship and place with nature, the creatures that inhabit her surroundings and their shared mortality.
